    Hello Greg,

Received the Parker Vacummatic today…, and want to say thank you! …for the wonderful retipping job, it writes…, “buttery smooth!” …and, for the care you took in packaging and insuring it.

Good job, Greg. I will not only be returning, but officially passing the word onto our calligraphy guild! If that’s ok with you!?

    Gratefully,

    Rick B.

    Greg, thank you very much.

From the moment I took the Parker Vacumatic out of it’s box I have hardly put it down.

Both the pen and the nib are gorgeous, that wet-black stub generated line is a joy to behold.

Along with a red Chinese lacquer Parker Sonnet owned previously by a late friend/correspondent of mine and a vintage flex Waterman it joins my pens as best of breed. This is my first Vacumatic and I love the way it fills.

Once again, thank you very much.

    All the best

    Phil F.

There is a symmetry that is needed when I retip Parker 51 nibs. As you can see in the photos below, attention to the details are what make for a good retip.

Would you like to have this retip to your nib? Let me know, as the retip is only $70.00 plus shipping, and takes just two weeks to complete.

    Received (the) pen safely today…

    What can I say …….. P U R F E C T.

Can you clone this nib for me from now on…. you are workman ship is brilliant – looks like the nib left the factory like it – but even far far better it has been adjusted by you.

New client named Jas received his custom needlepoint superflex Namiki Falcon yesterday, and emailed me his reaction to the pen, thank you Jas! Please see his comments below:

    Hi there.

Wanted to let you know that the Falcon pen arrived yesterday, and I picked it up this morning from the post office. Holy crap the line this thing writes is fine! :) Will take some practise for me to get used to it, but I’m really enjoying the writing experience with it. :)

Many thanks for the work you have done on the pen, it’s much appreciated and I realise how fortunate I am to own one of these pens.

    Cheers. :)
    Jas.

Always nice to receive feedback, especially from a new client. Thank you Ernie:

    Greg,

The pens are safely here, inked, on my desk and being used. Love them both!!! Perfecto!
The Octagon with a more flexy nib to begin with is fun, and the Dragonfly with a firm nib – is a blast too.

I am so so very happy with your work! These are a treat, and give me now no regrets in having sold the Tibaldi Iride you had worked on.

    Best regards,
    Ernie

It is often that I receive special requests for retips on special pens. Such is the request on this nib which belongs on a Virginia Woolf. The client requested that a smooth, stub/italic be placed on this nib, of which now the nib is has. Photos below show some of the attention to detail and symmetry I give to my retips, as well as the polished writing surface.

  • 30 Jul 2010 /  Pen Shows

Well, the D.C. Pen Show is just around the corner! I had my airline ticket, hotel reservations all lined up, then I got a grand jury summons; ever try to get out of a grand jury summons? Forget it! So, while you are all having fun, I will be sitting in some room with a book, or my iPhone, waiting to go on a panel.

Save a few pens for me to retip while you are there and send them to me. I will be working on pens/nibs at night after being in court all day, so there will be no delay in your orders/retips. I guess it is the price you pay for being a citizen, I could think of worse things!
