An exclusive offer and a limited edition!
I am please to announce that I am THE ONLY distributor for this limited edition Platt Rogers Spencer Fountain pen, a numbered series that will sell out fast!
Who is Platt Roger Spencer? Well, We all talk about “Spencerian” script, and Mr. Spencer is the father of that hand. We all try to emulate his work, and as some of you know, the well respected and master penman Michael Sull recently dedicated a monument to Mr. Spencer’s honor complete with full on, formal dedication ceremony, attended by well known penmanship teachers as well as other dignitaries in the pointed pen world. This all took place at the city hall grounds of Lake Geneva, Ohio, the home town of Platt Rogers Spencer.
Through Mr. Spencer’s work and influence as a teacher, and by his system of penmanship, through his pupils and by his public addresses and encouragement, Mr. Spencer was instrumental in founding the business colleges of the United States and in promoting their growth and development of a business hand during the early part of America’s industrial growth and development. With his help, the Bryant & Stratton Colleges were founded in over 50 cities in the United States by students of Spencer, and Spencer was involved with the institution, creating lesson plans and overseeing the courses offered to the students.
These special pens, hand crafted with Mr. Spencer’s own signature on the barrel, and a quill motif on the top cap, plus engraving of his name and year/death, is truly a “Must Have” for the serious penman person, or collector.
In honor of Platt Roger Spencer, a special, limited edition series of fountain pens has been created with the guiding hand of Michael Sull, and the precision industry of Edison Pen Company. I am proud to offer these pens exclusively on this site to my loyal clientele.
The pens come in two color styles, red hard rubber ripple and green hard rubber ripple, reminiscent of the early hard rubber ripple pens made by Waterman’s and other brands of that era. The flat top of the cap and barrel taper is also reminiscent of the early Parker Duofolds both in style and shape of the cap and pen body.
There is also a selection of nibs, by size (small, medium, broad point, etc.) and come in either 18k gold or steel. Here is the list of the nibs available for this pen:
