Well, time and time again I see nice pens with destroyed ink sacs. Such is the case below. Nothing like a chemical “melt” of a rubber ink sac by a very caustic ink, and this example picture below is typical.
Not only was the sac turned into a gooey mess, but some of it was “glued” to the inside walls of this pen, requiring soaking and scraping to remove it. The owner of this pen is now well educated and promises this pen will not see Noodler’s ink in the future.


Isn’t it interesting that I have overhauled two Lever Fillers, back to back, from the same customer that had this exact problem! A 1920 Sheaffer Jade FlatTop and a Conway Stewart 58.
