(SOLD! 11/22/09) Hot deal of the week! A nice Parkette Parker sporting a custom, superflex needlepoint regrind/modification by me. Only $75.00 plus shipping. Photos below. Name in gold on the barrel, but otherwise in great shape. These pens, because the clip/band/lever tend to be manufactured on the cheaper side, that is, the gold plating is more of a light wash, usually are worn out. This pen is not worn out, and still has the original plating on those parts mentioned with just a little brassing showing. You gotta hurry, this deal will not last!

Talk about worn to a flat surface

Okay, so you receive in the mail, or buy at a pen show, a great pen, and you want to use it. New sac installed, inked, and you put the nib to your paper, and then you say “OUCH!.” Upon closer inspection, you see the “foot” of your nib has a flat spot.

Not to worry? Your friendly podiatrist for pens can assist you. We will “shave” off those bunions (sharp corners) and make you write/walk in total harmony with your new pen. Picture above is the “before surgery” photo and the picture below is “after bunion surgery.” Makes you wonder if the nib, now healed (double meaning!) will make the “tipping toes” of the nib feel more comfortable when the cap is screwed back on.

No more sharp edges, and a nice, smooth foot

When A Tile Floor Meets a Nib Head On!

When A Tile Floor Meets a Nib Head On!

    .
So, you are writing along in your journal, or an important letter to a friend, and the worst thing happens; getting up to get that cup of coffee or snack and your pen rolls off the table and onto your tile floor, nib first! Yikes! Well, not to worry; as you can see in the photo below this nib is now back in business, ready to tackle that important letter or journal entry once again. This pen is a sentimental Waterman’s fountain pen with a steel nib. Usually the quality of the name brand nibs in steel will allow for one or two repairs of this nature, before the nib should be replaced. Do you have a favorite pen that needs some TLC from an encounter with a hard surface? Let me know!
