It is always so nice to receive personalized notes of thanks from my clients. Kimy Rodgers is one of them; Recently I worked on her Edison Pearl which I reground the nib to a smooth stub. My wife Janet Takahashi test wrote with the pen, and I sent Kimy pictures of the test writings. Thank you Kimy for your business, and your note; I look forward to helping you out with another pen in the near future!

Always nice to get a hand written card from a client who is very satisfied with my work. This reminds me that as may or may not know, I am a Bexley authorized retailer. Email me or phone me today for your Bexley wants; I can modified your nib on your new purchase, at no extra charge!

Now here is a really small, sharp extra fine needlepoint retip for a vintage Pelikan green/black pen. The regrind on a needlepoint is sort of like a pencil in a pencil sharpener; a complete conical tip. This nib is also flexible, so one can get a really nice line variation with pressure.

Always pushing the limits and boundaries of what can be retipped, below is my first music nib retip. Came out real nice. I am sure the owner of this nib will be quite happy.

Another challenge to come across my work bench. A double 00 Montblanc nib. The issue on retipping this nib is not the size of the tipping; its hanging onto the nib during the whole retipping process. After much thought and some designs, I was able to work with my machinist to come up with a holder for the nib so that I can manipulate the entire device while grinding the nib to a fine tip.

One of the first retips I have done for a very good client of mine from the L.A. Pen Show. Brian’s Two oversized Parker Vacumatics; one in brown, one in green. The green pen has a very flexible nib and was quite a challenge to retip as the tines are quite thin. Both now are very nice, and very wet, triple broad stubs.

This year Janet was again available to sign her book, “Artful Journals” which have sold over 9,000 copies world wide since its release in November 2007.
She was also on hand to sign her limited edition prints which have been fully matted and include a certificate of authenticity. Janet’s prints, which can be seen in closer detail at her site www.janettakahashi.com were a big success this year. As you can see in the photos below, many folks wanted their books signed and personalized.
Great going Janet!

A packed room on Sunday!
WOW! What a weekend! I was so good see you all that attended the show. I had a whole lot of fun, and there were plenty of pens out there. So many friendly faces, and the deals just kept on coming.
Here are some photos to enjoy hot off the press; more photos of the show will come later. Enjoy!

ITS FINALLY HERE! The Los Angeles International Pen show is finally here! Yeah! I plan to arrive sometime on Thursday.
All the pens I will be bringing have been tagged and priced, and very reasonable prices. I will be selling restored gold cap Parker 51 pens for just $100.00 to $125.00 and modified Parker 51 pens with my famous extra broad ball or stub retips for only $125.00 plus tax! I have also 51 pencils and a few other “special goodies” that I am sure you will enjoy. I will also be doing a workshop at 11:00am on Saturday, the 14th titled “Get to the Point.” I will have quite a number of pens to try out, each with my custom retip or regrind. At the end of my presentation, two lucky attendees will walk away with one of my creations, as I will have a free raffle to all that attend.
I will post pictures of the L.A. Pen Show a few times during the show, to give all of you that could not attend some photos to enjoy, so keep checking back here at this site now and then.
