Wow! What a response to my Bexley pen’s that I am retailing now. Two are already sold with modified nibs, thank you! I have a few other models, not pictured, in inventory, so please email me if you are looking for a particular Bexley pen, and I will be happy to send you a photo.

Well, check out this sorry looking Pilot Namiki VP Nib. It met a nice tile floor last week, according to the owner. After some work, and a regrind to a stub, the nib is back in business! Check out the photos let me know what you think.

UPDATE 11/03/08: Well, the customer received back both of these nibs today, and this is what he wrote:

    Hi Greg,

The Sheaffer and VP nibs arrived today in great shape.  I tested both and I am very pleased with both nibs.  I mailed a check on Friday, you should have it soon.  Thanks again for the awesome service and excellent work.

    Sincerely,
    Fred M.

  • 15 Oct 2008 /  Pens For Sale!

Greetings all! We have wonderful news to report. We are now official distributors of Bexley Pens. Bexley Pens are wonderful in that they come in a kaleidoscope of colors, sizes, and nibs to fit anyone’s hand.  They are American made, with the fit and finish quality you would expect from much more expensive pens.  And what is even better is that I will be able to regrind any Bexley nib to suit your needs in house, no long waiting for this service.

Our initial order will be shipped to us next week, with a wide range of  models/colors to choose from.  Check back in about 10 days and I will  have pictures of what will be in our beginning stock for immediate  purchase.

Having two Parker Vacumatic nibs, I made this one a broad stub. Nice, rounded sides with bevels, just like the factory did. This nib will provide years of smooth, easy writing with plenty of line variation for everyday use.

Just received an email from a new client who received his pen back after I reground it to a nice, fine oblique stub:

    Hi, Greg,
I just received the pen.  Wonderful.  What an unusual look and feel this nib has.  What an inspired choice of yours to add a stub to the oblique.  It makes all the difference.  I usually spend too much time watching TV or surfing the internet.  I think I’m going to spend too much time writing with my Pilot 742, customized by Greg Minuskin.  Thanks again, Howard T.

Well, this is a sad sight to come across the Minuskin workbench. Two bent nibs. The client sent these two lovely pens in to have them both reground to a stub, not realizing that the nibs are quite bent and out of adjustment. There will be some TLC needed here to get them back into shape.

Well, here is the latest retip to come out of the Minuskin Workshop! This is a very nice Tibaldi Extra (Modern) that my client requested to have a broad stub retip. The results are quite pleasing, as the owner of this pen likes wet lines (can you see the ink shining still on the paper?) to sign important documents. What was particularly challenging about this retip is that the client was leaving for an important business trip and needed the retip right away. I was quick to accommodate his needs, with NO extra charges for the rush service! Least to say that this client will be sending me more pens to work on in the near future!

In my continuing effort to demonstrate some really interesting nib regrinds, this lovely Pilot Custom 742 Falcon with a Super Flex came across my workbench over the weekend. After some emails between myself and the owner, we agreed upon this: To regrind the stock fine nib to an oblique stub. The results speak for themselves.

Well, here is another impossible retip! Check out this 1.4mm Super Broad Stub. This is a paint brush for sure, with lots of ink flow. Great for signatures on those important documents, or even signing your checks at the grocery store. Either way, you will get noticed with such a retip.
