Well, out of the blue (actually the screen of the computer) I received an email from Jeff S. He was just dropping me a quick note to say how happy he was with his recently acquired 1.3mm custom stub Sheaffer Triumph pen he purchased from Gerry Berg, one of the leading, if not the best Sheaffer plunger pen repair person out there. Pictures below, and Jeff’s comments about the pen.

Here is an ideal combination: the rugged Sheaffer Triumph nib with a 1.1mm stub and one of the plunger-filling ink “tankers” of the 1940s. THE 1.1mm STUB USES A LOT OF INK, AND THE PROPERLY RESTORED PLUNGER-FILLER HOLDS LOT OF INK (See note below on PLUNGER-FILLER RESTORATION). This ORIGINAL TRIUMPH nib has been re-tipped and ground by the West Coast nibmeister, GREG MINUSKIN.

Here are a few custom music nibs that I will bring the L.A. Pen Show next month. For the Sheaffer’s nib I decided to widen the slits towards the imprint, while on the Parker Vac nib I followed the lines of the “Arrow” of the nib, just to see if I could do it, and see how it looks, which I think it looks nice plus well proportioned. Wow! I did not expect the overwhelming response that I received from all you folks for the Parker 51 music nib I recently created! Thank you so very much. Not only do I have orders for over a dozen of them, I was asked to fit one of the music nibs into a pen, which I have done this evening. Pictured below is one of my “growing” stock of nibs fitted to a blue Areometric pen. As you can see, the line is very broad, and very wet!

Okay all you Parker 51 collectors, I finally did it! After much engineering thought and consideration, I have attempted, and completed, the first Parker 51 music nib. Check out the photos below.

I also did two vent holes, using micro drills, so that there will be proper air return on the nib, being that its so large. Measuring about 1.40mm in size, I am sure that this nib will find a home. Inquiry about the price, it will not last long!
